Anne Polet

Clinical Aromatherapist IFA, ITEC, RGN, Bsc

I worked in the NHS as a Registered Nurse for 35 years. It was this career path that initially led me to do my training in Massage/Anatomy and Physiology at Bristol Cancer Help Centre. I very early on in my career became interested in other treatments that can be used alongside modern medicine and provide help. I gained my ITEC diploma in swedish massage in 1988.

I then started adding some essential plant oils to my base oils for massage, and loved the extra benefit of the “fragrance”. I knew there was much to learn and I wanted to do further training to learn about the benefits of essential oils. My training in Aromatherapy was at the Leaves School of Aromatherapy which was affiliated with Shirley Prices School, one of the founders of Aromatherapy in the UK. I gained my diploma in IFA Aromatherapy 1991.

I also have a Bsc in Psychology and Health Science. This came about from a period of time working as prison nurse working with addiction and mental health issues. I did some research into the effects of essential oils in my final year of my degree.

I am a full member of the International Federation of Aromatherapists, and am required to undertake yearly continuous professional development. I have full insurance, affiliated to the IFA.
